Diploma in Consumer Protection Laws

Rights, remedies and redressal under the Consumer Protection Act — deficiency of service, unfair trade practices, product liability, and the consumer commission system.

Diploma in Consumer Protection Laws

About the course

The Consumer Protection Act, 2019 reshaped how Indian consumers assert their rights — introducing product liability, regulating e-commerce, and strengthening the three-tier commission system. This one-year diploma provides a complete working knowledge of that framework.

Students learn to identify deficiency of service and unfair trade practices, draft and file consumer complaints, and follow a matter through the District, State and National Commissions, including mediation and appeals.

The programme is valuable for practitioners, business owners, customer-facing managers and consumer activists. Assessment is through a Savitribai Phule Pune University examination at the end of the academic year.
